What happens when I'm bored at school...

A Day in the Life of Me

First is English

I get the dish

About what is

Right and

Wrong.

Second is math

Where I suffer

The wrath

Of geometry philosophers

Of old.

Third is gym

Where coach’s whim

Is to make

Us all suffer.

Fourth is U.S. History

And it’s no

Mystery,

It’s my favorite

Core class.

Fifth is band

Who needs a hand?

My best and favorite,

I excel.

Sixth is science

More like why-ence

Why do things work?

They just do.

Last and least

Is seventh and speech.

I would really,

Quite honestly,

Rather be

At the beach.

Monster

It’s a terrible raging beast and it tears the very inside of me.

It’s ugly and mean, willing to kill and destroy.

It has no heart for tenderness for it put scars and tears on mine.

I always have to fight to keep it inside and away from the ones I love.

Sometimes it consumes me and I become someone I’m not.

It’s greedy and selfish, it’s brutal and terrifying.

I can’t bear to look at it.

It’s the monster inside of me and it wants out.

If only I could be rid of it, then I would be happy!

If only its existence is vanquished, I could rest easy!

For it is ugly and scary, and merciless and- and scary.

It’s slowly destroying me.

I pray to you now Lord.

Strike down the beast.

Free me from these chains and tell me I’m ok.

Tell me I’m free and the monster is gone.

But- what?

You made me realize father-

The only monster still terrorizing me is…

Me.

Rhythm :)

Rhythm

The drums reach the

equilibrium of the

beating of my heart.

The tubas and trombones

and baritones

and saxophones;

take the coursing of

blood through my veins.

The flutes and

clarinets and

French horns and

oboes breathe

as I breathe and

electrify my senses.

The baton brings

it all together,

working together

as we belong-

family.

But I feel I have

forgotten one thing-

oh the trumpet!

The instrument that

sings the song

of my heart.
