The Promise by Abbi Wharton

The Promise

When they say I can’t I will.

When they say forget I will remember.

When they say it’s over I will keep going.

When they say all is over I will maintain hope.

When they say walk I will run.

When they will curse me I will walk with pride.

When they lose I will hold me head high.

When they give up I will fight.

When they will sulk I will sing.

When they drag I will dance.

I’m not they.

I dare to be different.

I dare to be me.

That is the promise.

Summer by Abbi Wharton

Summer

Summer is for sure God’s gift to children.

But adults do not see the same magic that is kept in the beauty of the season.

Think about it for a moment…

Sleeping late

Bonfires

Friends

Fireworks

Cook outs

Hotdogs

Pools

Movies

Late nights

Flip flops

Shorts

Flip Flops

Games

Grass

Walks

Think about the small things…

Long talks with best friends

Walking barefoot in the fresh grass at night

Camp fires with stories and S’mores and sodas and laughs

All day long pool trips

Laying out and watching a firework show on an old quilt

Think about things you don’t have to think about…

Homework

Teachers

Learning

Papers

Lessons

Classes

School Lunches

School Bathrooms

Summer is freedom

Summer is what kids stand the school year for

Summer is what renews the soul and brings joy

Now if we could only make summer last our whole lives and all year round.

Not my best but what do you think?

The Elves

Well Luci M Is back ya'll and she better then ever I think. This is by far my favorite thing she has written!

The Elves

By Luci M

The elves, they sit in their hollow hills, laughing at man's whims and wills.

They walk our world, though we don't see; they touch our lives invisibly.

A gust of wind, a haunting song, that voice that's in your dreams life-long,

a sound in the night you know can't be, the cat's eyes staring back at me.

If you have seen or heard these things, then you have touched the elves.

They move through our world in the corner of your eye

like something you want, but you don't know why.

They are our unknown dreams, and our heart-felt cry

and we've been drawn to them from the dawn of time.

They are the deepest hurt and perfect desire.

It is hard to find words for the feelings they inspire.

If you have ever known or felt these things, then you have touched the elves.

The lords and ladies are unearthly and like nothing we've ever known;

they don't fit inside our boxes, they don't let themselves be owned.

The fey are wild and wonderful, yet horrible and untamed.

Once the fey have touched you, you will never be the same.

It gives me chills up my back now to write these words

yet I know somehow I must make them heard – for I have touched the elves.

Look for more later! ~Abbi
